Hannah Fahoome is an award-winning filmmaker and community organizer from Michigan. She is a 2024 Gilda Award winner presented by Kresge Arts in Detroit, and designated a 2025 ‘Trailblazer-In-Residence’ at BasBlue.
She serves as Curator of Programs for the Arab American National Museum’s Arab Film Festival, and has served on the selection committee for the 48-Hour Film Project, Detroit.
As the director of Now Listen Here, Young Lady!! LLC., she leads multimedia projects ranging from film productions, events, installations, publicity campaigns, and more.
A fierce advocate of community-led storytelling, Fahoome emphasizes place-making and relationship building by hosting film programming and teaching workshops. Her filmmaking techniques are often experimental, seeking to explore and and agitate the bounds of form. Inspired by the works of Maya Deren, she sees the camera as a powerful tool towards liberation.
